Of Mice & Ben

This “little” guy is Little Danny.  I met him in the summer of 2009 while promoting my band Follow Your Failure.  He was on stage playing with his band At Our Expense.  If there was only one dude who I could choose to write music with for the rest of my life, it’d be Danny.  He can write the catchiest hooks to the poppiest pop songs to the most brutal riffs.  Not only that, but he’s an upstanding dude.  He’s also obsessed with anything Disney.  How can you NOT like that about someone.  Here’s a shot I took him while doing a promo shoot for his band.

So a post back or so I introduced you to Kevin Chen.  Well, Chaos Invasion is a part of Kevin’s legacy.  This is a band of talented young musicians that include Kevin’s kids, Zack and Zoe.  They are twins and awesomely talented.  Zack plays guitar and Zoe plays the drums.  Look out White Stripes, a younger, more talented, more asian combo will soon explode onto the scene. Pieter is a man who plays several roles.  Father.  Composer.  Friend.  Instructor.  Husband.  The list goes on and on and on.  If you’re one of the millions of people who’ve watched an episode of Desperate Housewives or one of the billions of people who has ever seen any of the Transformers movies or any of the gazillion people who have played Gears Of War 2 or will be playing Gears Of War 3, chances are that you’ve heard the music he composes.  He’s quite the genius musician.  But on August 7th, he took that composer hat off and put on his husband/father hat.  I had the most amazing time photographing him and his family.

At Our Expense is a local band out of the San Fernando Valley.  I’ve recorded 3 eps with them and their songwriting keeps on progressing.  Here are a few shots I did for promo uses.
